Is anyone experienced with cross reactivity of hormone receptor antibodies among different taxa (e.g. does a chick antibody detect mouse receptors)?

I am working on non-model organisms and wondering whether kits made for other taxa (specifically chick) may be used to localize glucocorticoid or mineralocorticoid receptors in my tissues via immunohistochemistry.
