I am in need of advice as to whether I should work on metal matrix or ceramic matrix for cutting tools reinforced with CNT? Kindly help.
As far I know CNT reinforced in ceramics will not be that advantage for cutting tools when compared with metal reinforced tools. CNTs will not improve the abrasion properties of ceramics I guess.
The CNT reinforced ceramic does not have the proper mechanical properties and hence may not be used as a cutting tool materials.
Reinforcement of CNT into the ceramic will improve the toughness of the ceramic, therefore, it is good choice as a cutting tool material.
