Hello. I would like to ask a question about DNA extraction and identification of invertebrates. Is one individual enough to get a final result for species identification ? If yes, please help me with references. Another question: is comparing the DNA with the database NCBI enough, or do I need to seek other databases? Thank you in advance.

Good morning. It really depends on the size of the species you want to study. You don't need the same number of carabids as palpigrades, for example. On the other hand, taxonomically, species differ in specific morphological characteristics depending on the group, so it's much cheaper to identify species based on those characteristics.
