Is 50nm pore size is smaller than 5KD pore size of a membrane?

Typically, 5 kDa membrane has very small pore size, much less than 50 nm. Roughly, you can use the formula:

pore radius = 0.0167*(MWCO)^0.56

where pore radius is in nm and MWCO is the molecular weight cut-off in Da.
