I have some experience with involving students in producing digital learning aids and non-digital ones. Key factors are letting the students ideas have space to evolve. Let them think first before sharing your own ideas. The students will suprise you. It is also my experience that the students need communication and cooparation tools. I have experimented with this through my PhD. You will fing it as a free full text here on RG. It is in Norwegian. Page 60-100 are practical and relevant in this case. In Norway (I can see you are from NTNU) there is a lot of experience with facilitating tools from fields like guidance (veiledning) and coaching. My own book «Samarbeid og konflikt - to sider av samme sak» (Kversøy og Hartviksen 2018 - 2nd ed.) has been used by many student groups doing development work. Many of these students have been teacher students or teachers taking a masters degree. Many of them have been developing learning aids. Chapter one in the book is about communication and cooparation and chapter three is about doing development work and even action research. Good luck with your important work involving students. Yes, I always try to involve students in the production of teaching aids because this method entrenches the basic concepts of scientific material, which I strongly seek to understand in correct ways.
