This is an invitation to participate in the three-day Summer Workshop “Meta-Analytical Methods in Food Safety Research” (Meta2016), to take place from the 25th to 27th May 2016 in sunny Portugal. Meta2016 is the first international workshop on meta-analysis for food safety research. The objective of this workshop is to provide, in theoretical and practical sessions, a clear understanding of the various meta-analytical methods that can be used to combine, contrast and synthesise all available knowledge on a specific food safety issue such as: the estimation of the overall prevalence of a chemical/biological hazard, the effect of intervention strategies on contamination levels, or the development of a holistic microbial kinetics model.
