After applying electrodes to my polymer-based solid-state electrolyte films, I check the connectivity using a digital multimeter to ensure there is no short circuit. I observe three different behaviors:

  • Beep sound: Indicates a short circuit.
  • Numerical value (resistance): Unclear if this is ideal.
  • No reading at all: No number or beep, only blank.

While I understand the beep means the sample is shorted and not usable, I am unsure how to interpret the other two cases. Does a numerical resistance reading indicate proper connectivity? Does no reading suggest poor contact or an open circuit? What should be considered a healthy or acceptable response for solid-state battery assembly?
