Hi

I am M.Phil researcher in a Pathology Lab. We have purchased the SimFlour HSV 1and 2 IF kit from a reputable company.

We applied it on cervical smears and cell blocks prepared from SurePath specimen with a high yield of squamous epithelial cells.

We got these results (as shown in the photographs attached) which show a very high fluorescence yield.in some cells (green for HSV 1 and golden for HSV 2 while red for negative)

Patients were pregnant females recruited from a public sector Gynae centre in our city.

As our lab is for the very first time doing the IF test on SurePath and cell blocks for HSV, we request comments and expert opinion from your related researchers regarding labeling of these fluorescence producing cells . As per the literature of the kit and the company experts, the kit is highly specific and does not stain any other organism. The control provided with the kit is also strongly positive with each batch.

I am attaching the kit positive control pics (first 2) and the test cases pics (rest of the pics) for your review, please.
