I was wondering how international collaborations between researchers are made? Actually, I would like to have a chance to work with other researchers in the consumer research, but I have no idea how can I start. I mean, how does it work usually (I'm completely neophyte as regards these matters).

For above article we all had same interest. Many people from industry helped me. now we are focusing on theory to improve the concept and add theoretical contribution based on above article.
There are no standards. As always in life, you simply have to establish contacts, identify commonalities and develop relationship.
You have to identify researchers with same research interest and establish contact... Then you can discuss and find if you can work together on a project.. I published my paper on consumer behavior with my colleagues who had similar interest...

Souad Djedi Yes, I think research-gate is the best available platform to establish a good network for collaborative projects.
Also you can find posts from researchers who are looking for co-authors.
