Development of accreditation program need effort and component to reach the goal of Nursing in Iraq and other Middle East countries to improve health and quality assurance in service, how can the goal reach and steps of success
The following steps outline a general approach towards achieving this goal:
1. Needs Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment to identify the gaps and challenges in the current nursing education and healthcare systems. This assessment should involve relevant stakeholders, including nursing professionals, educators, policy-makers, and healthcare administrators.
2. Establish a Task Force: Form a dedicated task force or committee consisting of representatives from nursing associations, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and relevant government agencies. This task force will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of the accreditation program.
3. Define Accreditation Standards: Collaboratively develop a set of accreditation standards and criteria that reflect best practices in nursing education and healthcare service delivery. These standards should cover areas such as curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, clinical training, infrastructure, patient safety, and quality assurance.
4. Adapt International Standards: Consider adopting or adapting existing international accreditation standards for nursing as a foundation for the program. This can include frameworks provided by recognized accrediting bodies such as the International Council of Nurses (ICN), World Health Organization (WHO), or relevant regional accreditation bodies.
