Depends on your definitions.

I would define interactive as experience or experiencing which implies learning and taking in which can aid and stimulate innovation.

"Participating". Experiencing something first hand and with the senses involved can really trigger innovative ideas.

I think interactive atmosphere can be the good point in order to be more innovative, since in an interactive condition new ideas come out.
