The institutional review board (IRB) at my institution takes a very long time to process the research proposals. We do not have any national organizations which approve human research. I wonder if there are any international organizations which may be able to act as an alternative to IRBs, in terms of reviewing the research proposals?

In my experience, IRBs can take a long time and are very focused on the goals of your particular institution. However, there should be an expedited review process available, assuming your proposal meets certain criteria. Have you looked in to the requirements for that?
