you did not mentioned the reasons behind your looking for other initiators rather than those you mentioned. My suggestion is why not using one of the living/controlled polymerization techniques (NMP/SFRP, ATRP, RAFT/MADIX, ....). These will allow you to get more precise control over molecular weight and architecture. Regards

US Patent # 9,109,084, has covered most of the reagents, which can give better Ca Sequestration value Polyepoxysuccinic acid disodium salt. However I am looking for a reagent which can afford PESA with good yields and not having reagents being covered under this patent. I am looking solution for this problem as i am working on process development for one of the industrial project assigned to me. Where the key is to develop the polymerization step cost effectively and should be scale-able. I hope this will answer your question Abdelkader

the reagents you mentioned are in use before the release date of this patent. So, I don't think that they are covered by it.. You can use older documents to be far from this patent. By the way, I have almost a complete documentation on PESA and PASA (polyaspartic acid), so feel free to ask me about any document you may need. Regards

hello, Colloidal silica (SiO2) is probably the most undesirable inorganic deposit formed in industrial water treatment systems, either in bulk or on surfaces. Several reports have shown that generations 1 and 2 NH2-terminated polyaminoamide dendrimers (PAMAMs 1G and 2G) can efficiently inhibit colloid silica formation. PAMAM-1G is a more effective inhibitor compared with PAMAM-2. The present paper tests the effects of NH2-terminated PAMAMs (0G–2G) on colloid silica formation. The results show that PAMAM-0G is a most efficient inhibitor compared with PAMAMs 1G and 2G. However, polyepoxysuccinic acid (PESA) is introduced because a small amount of silica–PAMAM white insoluble floc precipitates appeared in the solution. PESA alone cannot inhibit silica polymerization. However, combined PESA and PAMAM can prevent white floc and improve the inhibition performance of PAMAM. The underlying mechanism for this phenomenon is investigated using zeta potentials and atomic force microscopy topography.

Can you share few very critical and important references available with you for synthesis of PESA and PASP? the one you think have reported few critical observations for the synthesis of target products.
