Does somebody have information on the regulations for the use of nanoparticles ? Which international, supranational and / or intergovernmental institutions are dealing with the regulation of the use of nanoparticles ? How are these regulations designed and which members of which institutions implement them? Are there national or regional regulations that have been implemented regardless of the specifications of these institutions? Do exist regulations for the handling nanoparticles after the end of their use ? Or for nanoparticles in wastewater treatment plants ? Or for the use of nanoparticles in agriculture ? Are nanoparticles after their use recognised as waste ? Thank you very much in advance !
That's a long question, or indeed list of long questions, Petra, and would require an enormous space to document answers. I'd point to the work of ISO Committee TC229 (plus ISO TC24/SC4) and ASTM Committee E56 as developing standards in the nano area. However, other groups and other committees within ISO and ASTM have developed protocols and in the nano area. In particular take a look at:

Yes there is lot of information is available and various countries like Canada, Australia, European union are working on regulating the nanomaterials. But they are not formulating any new laws since toxicological data regarding all these nanomaterials is not sufficient so they have made some amendments in their existing regulation such as Toxic Substance Control Act (USA), Cosmetics Act (USA), REACH (EU) etc, .
