Anybody knows about the life span of Cuttlefish.

How long does it live and when it reproduces and how many times a year they reproduce?

In my research area in the Red Sea there are two fishing seasons. The first extend from January to May and the Second from July to September. Usually the cuttlefish visit shallow areas maybe to spawn. Fishermen report the disappearance of cuttlefish after the fishing season. Do they live in deep areas and they visit the shallow areas only for spawning. Do they really die soon after reproduction as some stories said. Does this depend on species?

Fishermen report that the fishing efficiency for cuttlefish increase during these spawning seasons.

How effective is it to place one year ban on fishing?

What are the depth ranges and the types of habitats in different life stages?

What are the environmental factors which control the distribution of cuttlefish.

If they migrate, how long their migrations and for what purposes.

In my reading for literature I found contradicting stories about the life span and reproduction frequency and whether they die after spawning or not.

Please share your information about the available knowledge on cuttlefish.
