Is it possible that inflammation control in diabetes is more important than glucose control? Medicines and dietary protocols therefore do not reduce the number of long-term complications.
as I see it, glucose control is very important in the long run, especially if you are dealing with young patients. After talking to colleagues in the field, I think that glucose control should not be so strict that you risk hypoglycaemic episodes. On the other hand, glucose and HbA1c levels that are way too high are probably associated with severe complications in the long run. It is therefore important to find a good balance in terms of glucose control.
