I haven't tried that myself, but according to VEM's excellent guide:

It's possible and works well. It also provides you with some useful parameters and suggestions for the evaporation.

Indium is a very low melting point material. try to have a good base vacuum, and operate at low power. I feel if you put too much power, it will melt quickly and you will may get cluster upon evaporation and a very disturbed and rough film.

Sometime simple slow thermal evaporation may be a better option.
