You, apparently, are interested in the specific surface area. Мesoporous materials composition consists of many ingredients: triblock copolymers, surfactants, hydrotropes, KF, etc. All of these affect the magnitude of specific surface area.Concentrations of surfactant must be optimized. Starting with small surfactant concentrations of specific surface area mesoporous material is reduced.
These are all well studied in membrane-filter aspects of material science about the importance of block copolymers. I have attached the following most relevant references that you may find very useful.
There is a limit of concentrations that any surfactant produces mesoporous structures. The specific surface area of mesoporosity also depends on the shape of the pores and different phase (e.g. cubical, hexagonal, etc.).
