Measuring innovation could be in terms of using durable modern materials like using Fibre Reinforced Self Compacting Concrete in place of normal concrete, incorporating health monitoring equipment peripherals during construction in critical areas, arranging laser controls for proper horizontal & vertical alignments, providing precast elements wherever possible for high quality finishes, installing CC cameras in the working zones for discrete close monitoring of supervision from control room etc.
These measures could possibly bring high involvement of experts.
Please go for the book entitled Research Methods for the behavioural scinces by Charles Stangor. From there you can gain good knowledge to identify "measurable variables".
Thank you Chandrasekhar for the valuable insights. I see you are suggesting the uptake of what is called innovative activities (technologies, products). Therefore , I would like to ask you please, do you think that other aspects (such as innovation benefits or outputs, inputs, drivers, barriers) as applicable measures for innovation as well?
Look at the Innovation project tool (IPT). It measures innovation projects in terms of project management. It might be useful for researchers and practitioners alike in their management in order to prevent them from making mistakes, to decrease unpredictability and ambiguity of such projects and to improve innovation projects’ performance and success. The IPT can be also used as a checklist for categorisation of innovation projects; as a pre-defined watch list during project work; a risk management tool for better analysing and assessing project risks and integration management supporting tool for better scoping all possible ingredients in innovation projects. The IPT provided 51 specifics of innovation projects with ranking of their specificity and impact on innovation projects.
