The previous three technological revolutions:
1. The industrial revolution of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, determined mainly by the industrial application of the invention of a steam engine.
2. Electricity era of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century.
3. The IT revolution of the second half of the twentieth century determined by computerization, the widespread use of the Internet and the beginning of the development of robotization.
The current fourth technological revelation, known as Industry 4.0, is motivated by the development of the following factors:
- artificial intelligence,
- cloud computing,
- machine learning,
- Big Data database technologies,
- Internet of Things.
On the basis of the development of these IT instruments and technologies, business analytics of companies such as Business Intelligence and the above-mentioned areas have been dynamically developing in recent years.
In view of the above, I turn to you with the following question: In what direction will the current technological revolution, known as Industry 4.0, develop?

Industry 4.0 is a name given to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Industry 4.0 is commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution.
I think that the most visible direction is the convergence of usage of a number of different techniques of IA, ML connected to IoT or Cloud. For this moment, I don't see a disruptive technology for Industry 4.0.
In my opinion the next steps are the realizations of the concepts developed in this area.
Many big ideas were born about the usage of the the technologies you listed to improve the manufacturing process.
Many things that have be illustrated aren't easy to realize in an industrial environment. For this reason the hype is already diminishing.
So, in my oppinion, the next step must be the realization phase to develop applicable solutions.

I suspect there are many possible routes for development, particularly with the roll-out of 5G networks during the near future. An area that i think will develop rapidly is the use of near real time data analytics to inform supply chain operations according to schedule and quality constaints.

As a CIO & a teacher, I would set Cloud Computing aside, a bit faraway for me from the mainstreaim, I would put forward :
Internet of Thing ; brings data to the factory floor and for better design/use of what industry produces
Broadly speaking Analytics (Big Data - ML - AI) to use the data generated by the IoT and the machines for better decisions & improving the operations.
Industry 4.0 is definitely taking the route that 4 major drivers (which are interrelated in many applicatios) --Big Data, Realtime Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics -- are carving out for mankind.
The disruption will definitely be felt in the commodity competencies/functions that rely heavily on paopleware, e.g., manufacturing, call center, even teaching, as AI and robotics, fed by Big Data and apps that analyze these data and even make routine decisions displace the people in the workplace.
Based on the development of the new technological solutions in recent years, dynamically developing processes of innovatively organized analyzes of large information sets stored in Big Data database systems and information processing in the cloud for applications in such areas as: machine learning, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, Business Intelligence. Added to this are additional areas of application of advanced technologies for the analysis of large data sets such as Medical Intelligence, Life Science, Green Energy, etc. Processing and multi-criteria analysis of large data sets in Big Data database systems is made according to the V4 concept, ie Volume (meaning number of data), Value (large values of specific parameters of the analyzed information), Velocity (high speed of new information appearing) and Variety (high variety of information).
