There are huge developments in e-learning, but there are many barriers to utily in developing countries such as infrastructure an policies of their governments.

Hi! Not exactly sure what to agree to or not. There are developments and enhancements coming out constantly. Here are some overarching perspectives:

- the idea of any ”e-learning” separated from other learning is still just a hype. Learning is learning although technology can enhance a lot. ”e” is not an attribute of learning.

- the idea of a platform, a shielded container for teaching and learning, will not be forever sustainable. The idea resembles the idea of a classroom; to isolate learning about the world, from the world.

- one recommendation is to try to see new tools and practices from a time and process perspective, instead of a place (here-there, distance, remote etc) or a tech-non-tech perspective (blended, hybrid, etc). See how a teaching -learning process is constructed in time modalities; synchronous and asynchronous events, and how these shift.

- there will soon be a another shift visible - from ICTs that only supports decreased information friction (faster, more accessible, more realtime, more multichanneled and multimedial information) to information processing - something unique for digital technology. Here we have emerging ICTs as learning analytics and adaptive learning and calibrated peer review. These have the power to really transform the teaching-learning process. A result will also be transformation of education organisation, since students learn at different pace. social learning modes will also have to be reconstructed when the idea of a normal learning pace is gone and mastery learning becomes predominant.

I think that synchronous learning style is more increasing regarding to new educational technology. Synchronous learning happens in real-time, when all learners are interacting at the same time, such as, online questioning in class.
