have put a reaction with dissolution of 4-amino benzonitrile (700 mg) by dissolving in chloroform (minimal amount ) and addition of Triflic acid (2 ml) but no conversion is occuring as analyzed with TLC sheet (after 24 hrs). What could be the possible reason?

Please follow this procedure, you will get your product: (perform this experiment in inert environment)
Take 50 mL round bottom flask, equipped with an ice bath and add 4-
Amino benzonitrile (2 gm) into it. then add 2 mL of triflic acid drop-wise and allow the solution to stir for 48 h at room temperature. Then pour reaction mixture into 200 mL of ice cold water and neutralized with 2 (M) NaOH solution. With the progress of addition of NaOH solution clear deep yellow coloured solution will appeare and after the neutral point immediate deep yellow precipitation will be formed. Filter the precipitate and wash with water followed by vacuum dry to obtained constant weight of the pure compound.
Zafar Iqbal Thank you for your suggestion, got the product but the problem is the reaction from 1 grm of reactant gave only 140 mg of product and there was no scope of stirring in the Rb as the paste was too thick.
The possible reason can be that the reaction temp was approx 10-20 degree centigrade as per the current season and is there a need to place the reaction in oil bath at approx 28 degree centigrade?
