Wavelets generated from seismic data alone may have a high - frequency content. So, if I use a single wavelet for log correlation, this wavelet should be close to constant phase at a time-window "A" but then, at time-window "B" it is not correct.
Wavelet extraction is very important. If you don't get it right, you may have problem of depth mispositioning. Therefore you can only get it rigth from your seismic to well ties. You have have to use more than one well and check the parameter to make sure you obtain static time shift of zero and correlation coefficient that is more than 7.
But before you start this make sure that you subject your well logs to media filtering corrections. If you get this first step rigth, your statistical wavelet correction will be high frequency free
