It is good if the household consists of at least 2 persons. My wife loves the garden and works a lot in it. I enjoy it - but not as much as she does.

Thank you very much for your quick answer. You are right, absolutely, I think. 40 years ago, this peace of land we had got was partly a rubble dump, partly a piece of desert (pure sandy soil), with 3 withered trees. At the beginning I worked a lot in the garden and first I laid a water pipe. Then much had to be dug up. Later my job took me so hard that I had no more time. But my wife loved the garden so much that she wanted to do everything on her own.

Thanks for your answer, I think quite in this direction. It is a good way to get balances in your doing, consciousness and your feeling with nature - apart from use to oecologic principle for cultivation of vegetables, fruits in a certain district.
Doing backyard (vegetable or flower) gardening may hit two or more birds in one stone. You do gardening you may enjoy it and may feel relax because it can give you peace in mind as environmentalist may termed it. On the other hand, gardening could also helped you produced food for your family and may be a potential source of income. Moreover, as you produce food we may also help our environment cope with its current problem that we are experiencing.
Social media today does for us now what the TV and radio did before. It psychologically tricks us into believing that we are in a group, and that we are interacting with people.
Because we are a gregarious creature, we find peace of mind being associated with others. Loneliness is our greatest enemy.
We find comfort and support through the use of computers and cell phones.
People may idealize and daydream about gardens but if you rephrased the question to read"
