In actual, thin films due to their Nano/microstructures offer unique size effects, quantum effects etc.The values will differ in mechincal, thermal and electrical properties. Please go through to the article below. Thank You!
Why are thin films different from the bulk? (spiedigitallibrary.org)
Consider mechanical properties, example Tensile strength- The unit is MPa or N/mm^2, where the mm^2 corresponds to the cross-section area, width (mm) x thickness (mm). Hence, the property is going to vary proportionally with the change in thickness. Also the standards for properties of film and bulk vary. Consider the tensile strength again, its ASTM D882 for films whereas ASTM D638 for molded plastic articles. Hence, please check the basic unit and if it is linked with material thickness.
So, any property which is linked with the thickness in its base unit cannot be assumed to be same as the bulk property.
