for chitosan/pva(50-50) blend i am getting maximum absorption,but as i am increasing the crosslinking ratio the absorption value is decreasing in uv region.i am attaching the graph(black curve is blend 50-50)...plz help me to read this graph?
Is your sample oxidizing during the reaction? You may see a slight color change (yellowing) by this and it would contribute to absorption.

Oxidation can cause formation of aldehydes and other moieties which absorb UV light. For the graphs, they show a qualitative (not necessarily quantitative) UV increase as a result of increased color absorption. I'm not sure effect on final properties for your application though.
