- I ran my COD analysis as well using the DR3900 spectro by the vial HR Hanna reagants. on avarage COD ranged around 650ppm.
- subsequently conducted my TOC analysis as per above using DR3900 spectro. on avarage ascertained values around 1300ppm.
- I have read through literature stating the COD:TOC should be between 0-5,33. in my case its the otherway around.
- why am I getting this strange results????
Hi Dr Andersen, Indeed, samples were harvested from local wastewater plants, precisely:
- Biorefinery plant ( Local Hullet Sugar refinery)
- Dairy Plant ( Local Dairy Wastewater plant- Clover)

There is not an obvious reason. You can try TOC by a real TOC machine (cadmium Column). Also try to measure filtered samples for both parameters.
You can try to extend the digestion time when you measure the COD, and see whether the COD value change compared to the COD value that you tested at first.
