I am having difficulty figuring out how to change the end-of-sentence reference to an in-text reference. I have been doing it manually, but I am hoping to find a more efficient way. For example, if I have the following sentence:

It has been argued that ... using ML methods (Someone et al., 2019)

I want to change it to:

Someone et al. (2019) argued that ... using ML methods.

When choosing a citation style in Mendeley, it uses the first style by default. That's ok as most of my references follow this style. However, some sentences use the latter which I have been modifying manually. Is there a way to accomplish this automatically or more efficiently?
