In electro-Fenton system, H2O2 was generated by a 2e- path. Then it may undergoes 3 path:
(1) H2O2 convert to H2O via electro-reduction process (Here H2O2 just act as an intermediate).
(2) H2O2 convert to O2 and H2O via disproportion reaction (caused by high concentration of H2O2 accumulated).
(3) H2O2 diffuse to bulk solution(this part is what we detect in experiment)
Therefore, if I want to accumulate more H2O2 in bulk solution, I want to prohibit path (1) and (2) by following ways, does it make sense?
Rotating electrode, once H2O2 molecules are on the back surface of electrode, it can diffuse to the bulk liquid without accepting another 2 electrons.
Pulsed power supply. once generated, there will a time without electron supply periodically, make it easier for accumulated H2O2 diffuse to bulk solution.
