In axisymmetric (2.5D) solids for a finite strain elasticity problem, would the resulting 2.5D problem be a plane stress or plane strain problem?

For a nonlinear material model undergoing finite deformation, when considering the 2.5 D model about the axis of symmetry, would the stress or strains follow a plane stress or plane strain theory? As an example one can consider a cylindrical thin membrane cross section about the axis of symmetry.

I found the answer. It is neither plane stress nor plane strain problem. The axisymmetric formulation forms the third formulation in addition to plane stress and plane strain problems.
