The clearance volume will not be affected if the seat of the valve is made similar to the circumferential diameter of the cylinder bore and if valve timing is changed!
the illustration i am viewing in it's present configuration is highly restrictive flow would be compromised severely to the point where combustion would fail after 2-3 cycles.The answer in easiest mechanical form is to replace thisvalve configuration with a reed assembly possibly of a bi-metal design
the reed valve has its effect more on the fresh charge. The pressure on the charge during compression will be more when compared to the exhaust gas's pressure. There may be more possibility for the reed valve to get actuated by the charge during compression too.
Dear Ram,using reed assemblies such as those found in multi stage compressors allows for higher compression,faster evacuation of exhaust gas's and cooler operation of the unit as a whole.But please forgive me for detracting from the original quest.If you were to run a simulation of this horizontal application i'm sure you would find the flow of fuel and exhaust quite interesting.
I also want to know the peak pressure that will be formed inside the engine? with it I can calculate the withstandability properties of the material that can be used in valve.. anyone help me out please!!
