I've synthesized one phosphorous containing compound. In corresponding 1H NMR spectra there is an extra sharp intense peak at 2.05 ppm (not corresponds to acetone CH3 proton) and in 13C also there is a peak around 20ppm. what it could be?
* peak: 2.05- sharp intense peak and close to that small extra peak also there in the ratio of 10: 1.
Thank you for your reply sir Adel Amer . sir, i used CDCl3 solvent for NMR not acetone d6. This peak not corresponds to any solvents. I've checked it. Is there any possibility due to 31P coupling with proton? Adel Amer
It may be acetic acid. Kindly check the possibility of acetic acid in ur reaction.
Ravindra, if it is due to 31p coupling with proton you wont get peak in 13C, extra peak in 13C means, check the used solvent peak for synthesizing compound or is there any possibility of esterification. For ex: ethoxy group instead of methoxy group.
