I am currently growing P. kishitanii (a derivate of P. phosphoreum) on agar and in liquid culture. I already glows so bright that I could read, but I want even more brightness. According to some researcg paper, the bioluminescence inside light organs is ~1000 fold brighter than on agar, even when the same bacteria strain is used. Are there any papers trying to improve the bioluminescence of photobacterium in culture??

Thanks, but you don't understand, I have already used the Medium 514, I have even inproved it, I want to get more light than this produces
Dear Andre Leonhardt .. to increased the brightness you must used optimum conditions for the growth of P. kishitanii ... check the temperature and you must incubate at anaerobic condition ... please check this link I hope it is helps you
