Right from stigmatisation to loss of jobs to the fear of transmission due to living in the ghettos; For migrant workers returning to their places of origin posed a challenge especially in a condition when there was restriction on mobility and those travelling from outside were deemed as "virus transmitters".

As human touch has become a potent apparatus of transmitting the virus those associated to corporeal service, in this case the sex workers would have to undergo an inordinate period of "income lull". Also these marginalized groups may not have access to healthcare facilities and the location of their settlements being clustered and squalid, they will be at higher risk of transmitting the virus.

My interest on this topic focuses on seldom heard young people in the social care system. I teach Contemporary youth issues and the impact on young people's mental health and well being has not been fully acknowledged or researched (for obvious reasons, still in a pandemic), the long term affects of Covid and the extend of the problems occurred will become more visible as time goes by and more research is done, in the meantime services are virtual for these young people and those who had underlining mental health issues/difficulties prior to Covid have only been magnified during the pandemic with less support, services accessibility halved and the reliant of social media for peer support/information/help etc maybe result in greater concerns for these young people. Fast forward two years services wont be able to manage or sustain the large number of referrals, there wont be enough support/funding to deal with the capacity or extend of the problem among our youth as a result of Covid... And remember I am only talking about one particular group of people who have been socially excluded (school closures, full on virtual class timetable (those with disabilities/ no internet/ no laptops/ no virtual support/ no peer interaction/ no sport clubs opened/ no youth clubs open etc)... and these young people are going through one of the biggest transitions (adolescence/puberty) without all of the above to get them through. Think of those young people living with parental addiction, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, homelessness, unemployment, parental mental health, carers etc) on top of everything else..... Food for thought!!!

Hello to those of the empowered class (a socially self excluding group) the pandemic has empowered the change needed for homelessness and other marginalized peoples. In that in order to "build back better" these groups are in fact the measure of goal as yet not achieved. Not yet achieving said goal is seen to be and rightfully so the failure in large part of all the empowered people. For this and future generations the continued failure will never be tolerated or now condoned, all my best John.

in my opinion Covid-19 affected everybody on the planet. however, those with a minority status are less lucky because they are marginalized in their societies. for example, the elderly and the homeless were deprived of basic needs during closure and curfews. may of them died alone either because of the infection itself or illness; and deprivation of basic health needs such as food, water, and health care.

the other groups such as drug addicts and immigrants were also abandoned by the government and left with minimal services. for example i saw a report about refugees in Europe where the refugees have no food, shelter, or medicine. they rarely got vaccinated or provided with heat or essentials during the cold whether . it is much worse for children of these minorities because the needs are already scars. these people are left alone to suffer the fear of the virus and possible infection as the governments were only focusing on their citizens with no attention paid to minorities.

While it is true that everyone on the planet has been impacted by COVID-19 but those vulnerable groups you have mentioned will fall deeper into the cracks, so to speak. According to a recently release report, “Existing inequalities have been exposed and worsened, with those already marginalised and vulnerable the most affected”. Perhaps in time those who put together the historical review of a most present topic/question you raise," are socially isolated groups more likely to be exploited during this Pandemic?", will need to look no further then to those who before the Pandemic were targeted by acts of Genocide. That until now, (because the criminals who commit and support said acts) are in fact/evidenced to be among the number who consider themselves to be the so called "best and brightest"! As yet to date untouchables, above the law, who continue in first world countries to be so criminal!

As it happens, unfortunately, in all Pathologies, COVID-19 is more prevalent in disadvantaged classes due to the interaction of several factors: Greater difficulty of access to Health Services, less information and training on the subject, less capacity to to be able to acquire masks, alcoholic hydrogel, etc., in countries where vaccination is not universal and free less chances of getting vaccinated (or none), serious difficulties to be confined if they have been in contact with infected because they cannot miss work (if they have it), living in crowded conditions, with a worse immune system due to poor diet, etc .; in short: poverty and disease, UNFORTUNATELY, always go hand in hand; but, if they are also isolated or stigmatized, as in caste systems, marginal groups, etc. EVEN WORSE!
