A few days ago I uploaded several full texts of my previous work since I did not have time before. I think I uploaded six different pieces or more. Some full texts I cannot share because the obligations to Journal or a publisher.
Now, I am wondering why it is not visible on my impact factor. There is something wrong, I am just wondering how this is possible; my previous doctoral student has two times less publications, we share several of them, and it appears that in his case your system is ranking my student higher. One of the papers is, for example, about the significance of prayer, which is in my opinion pseudoscience. This is just an example. I also noticed the same anomaly in another direction; one of my role-models in research of physiological complexity, Professor Klonowski wrote semina papers I was educated on, and he has much less impact on RG than me...Is it that your system is actually measuring our social popularity? How is that essential to science?

Dear Milena Cukic the manner of scoring, and details are not clear in RG, they have their reasons how giving score, activity is highly scored....
Sometimes, the score takes time to move, etc ...!
If you want to increase score, answer to some questions each week and time to time ask a question, you will be surprised by the score increase, if you stop one week, or two, you will see that it decreases!
There are some RG members who have more than 200, they only have answer to some thousands of questions! No publications!

Asking question is paid about 10 time to answering a questions, ...
The first answer is paid more than the second one, ...
When you have one new follower, you have about + 0.00025, ...
Through time, RG change progressively its manner of scoring, ... To improve this metric and to give each RG member it's adequate right......

I saw a similar question on RG a few days ago. RG takes into account number of : papers, followers, questions and answers. As it's already written, number of questions and answers has a big impact.

Thank you all for your answers! I was thinking that adding new research and full texts is more important than a social activiy. But it seems that RG is a kind of FB for people in science. When I realized that a professor I learned from, who publish seminal papers about fractal analysis has impact 0.2 I was puzzled. It feels different when you hear the coments of peers, thank you!
It is not only linked with paper publications, but also Qs and Answers and other factors. From your replied answer, I hope you have got clarification.
Thank you Muhammad. It is obvious that solely publications are not the most important thing leading to the conclusion that IF of RG is very relative thing.
The fastest way to increase scores is to ask and answer questions.
RG scores is updated every Monday 12:00 GMT.
