I find Google scholar to be a very useful tool. You can locate a "landmark" work in your field and then follow all of the citations to it. You can also limit the time range, such as only citations from the last 5 years.

I have tried this and works well for me.
- Installed Libkey
- Set Google scholar account to prioritise my university approved articles (to avoid AI written / quality issues).
- Use citation manager like Refworks / Mendeley, they work well for citing but also search).
- Lastly, your institution should have a fair library catalogue to search from with personalised librarian. With librarian you can share with them what search subject you require / need.
