Your question would have been valid if the reason for not being able to detect the dark matter were because we couldn't see it. Even though human eye can't detect electromagnetic wavelength beyond certain region (380 nm t0 780 nm), we have telescopes in all the other regions of electromagnetic radiation to detect any radiation emitted in the space. If dark matter were emitting radiation in say X-ray region, a telescope like Chandra X-ray observatory would have detected it.
So far we have been unable to detect dark matter not because we can't see beyond certain wavelength but because dark matter do not emit any radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum.
You probably ment dark body radiation, but I suspect you are interested in the part of light spectrum below human visual range.
One must think in term of evolution to answer such question. If an environmental parameter has an impact on the selection within a species (life length of an individual is in positive relation to his offspring quantity), then the longer the species exists the greater is the impact. Of course under assumption that the species didn't loose the property in question over time and also develop it over time.

Although Gonodactylus smithii is pronouncly sensitiv to polarized light, it is good example for the explaination above. What you need is to seek after environment where the sensitivity to infrared light might have selectiv effect. I would start with marine habitats in particular deep ocean.
The term dark matter is misleading in this sense. We may be
tempted to think that something which does not emit visible
light is dark. But no, dark matter does not couple to photons.
Therefore it does not emit radiation, not only in the visible range
but also: no photons are emitted in infrared or ultraviolet
ranges either. So how do we know that there is dark matter
at all ? The answer is that rotational velocities of stars in a
given galaxy should depend on the mass of the galaxy.
We can measure velocities of stars and then we can match
with the mass of a given galaxy. Unfortunately, there is a
big mismatch between this two quantities. This is the
missing mass problem. It is postulated that the missing
mass is dark matter. There has been no direct detection of dark
matter yet.
Our knowledge about the dark matter is close to zero so far. Since we have detectors super-sensitive in nearly entire spectrum from IR down to Gamma radiation and we have not seen any evidence of the dark matter, we only suppose, that the dark matter either does not interact or interact very weakly with the electromagnetic radiation. Thus, it would not be visible neither by "super-sensitive, range enhanced" human eye. Concerning human eye or any other similar optical instrument with objective and sensor, one has to bear in mind also the Rayleigh criterion for the angular resolution of such instrument (theta = 122*lambda/D, where theta is the resolution, lambda the wavelength and D is the diameter of the aperture of the optics). If the wavelength is too long, your eye would not register it even if your retina would be sensitive in entire spectrum up to radio waves. The long wave would not simply fit entirely into your detector (retina). This is also reason, why we do not have any microwave or radio-wave detector arrays like CCD. Such detector would need to be couple of tens square kilometers large.We rather use antennas and scan with their quite broad beam the chosen array on the sky.
Recently there was a claim that there is a x-ray signal of dark matter.
A sharp X-ray line coming from the directions in the sky, where dark
matters are supposed to lump. These signals can be explained if dark
matter is a sterile neutrino. In this case a sterile neutrino can have
a two body decay mode, which will emit x rays at half the mass
of sterile neutrino. Therefore if a sharp line is seen at energy
corresponding to 3.5 Kev, then mass of the sterile neutrino is
7 KeV. Sterile neutrinos can thus account for 1-100 % of dark
matter depending on how often they decay. Here is a link to
