I have a basic mathematical question.
I designed a controller that can guarantee that variable z can remain zero or bounded for all time. Where z=s-r. Frome being zero or boundedness property of z can I conclude that s and r are also bounded?

As far as I know, if you have a finite result it does not necessarily require to be both quantities are also finite. Possibly, this is the reason why the subtraction "infinity minus infinity" is called an indefinite form. In such cases, the result may be plus or minus infinity or a finite number.
