Most seed meals have a 6-4-2 NPK ratios. Oil pressing without solvents can leave as much as 20% oil in the seed cake. Would this change how I use it as a fertilizer? Would the oil content affect growth?
I think this is not going to affect the quantity of NPK but oils are made up of unsaturated fatty acids and may have functional groups that may affect the availability of these elements.
I think that the residual oil in the cake would not affect plant growth but it certainly have some effect on nutrient availability. As oil is presence, rate of nutrient release and nutrients by the plants might be low. so it may affect growth indirectly.
