I've been asked to to see how present perfect is being taught.
(1) As a literature review, do you think current teaching techniques in grammar would work well?
(2) And one thing I could look at is present perfect taught deductively or indeductively? Would you agree or disagree.

depending on your research question, a qualitative approach (lesson observation, expert interview) might be more suitable. In grammar books, you will find a great variety of methods concerning the present perfect, including deductive and inductive ways, which is the 'standard' differentiation with regard to teaching grammar.

Applying modern methodology in teaching (esp. for tenses in English) or reviewing is highly effective in academic work. Besides, present perfect is a rich tense, so any kind of clarification will be of use. Best regards.
The literature review usually starts broad and then narrows down to a specific focus. In your case you would start by looking at approaches and techniques in teaching grammar, then moving into particular techniques in teaching the present perfect.
