Hello please could I ask for a second opinion as to what this is present on the small intestine of the rat histological section? I believe it could be a neoplasm of the -intestinal-epithelial cells. This tissue section has been stained as a negative control with AE1/AE3 anti keratin pan-antibody.
I would be very grateful for any help, I wish to see what happened within this tissue and what these cells are, are these plasma cells? Enterocytes? Leukocytes?.
I think that is hard to say based on these two pic, it might be a focal hyperplasia, it might be just a focal infiltration of lymphocytes, it might be just normal tissue with a tricky tangential cut due to the folds of the mucosa ( the most likely hypothesis according to me) but at the moment I see the diagnosis of intestinal epithelial tumor pretty far from here. I agree with the fact that for sure, in order to have a clearer answer, you should re-stain a section with an HE in order to have more clear details on the slide.

Looks like normal small bowel mucosa. The epithelium should be AE1/AE3-positive if your antibody covers rat (anti-rat solely or among others) unless you intentionally skipped any reaction step in order to obtain a negative result.
