Mmm.. I usually use FTIR to demonstrate if there are some interactions between drug and polymer. How can I use this technique to evaluate drug nanoparticles inside polymeric matrix? And the size of these nanoparticles?

@Alessia Di Capua....You can use Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analyzer (Master Sizer/Zeta sizer) to know the particle size and their distribution. Further Scanning Electron Microscopy will be useful to observe the particle size and shape.

Firstly, Bind Drug with the dye of fluorescent compound or Instead of drug you can use fluorescence compound. Then, take images which give the clear idea how drug disperse in a polymer.

I use Sempre to observe morphology of microparticles of drug+polymer.. and I easily evaluate the size of these one. My aim is to evaluate the size of drug in these microparticles.. I mean, I suppose that drug is dispersed under nanometric size in the polymeric matrix. And I would like to demonstrate this hypothesis.

Dr Khunt yes! This can be an idea. I thought also to use some metallic compounds to use anon Edx analysis

But if I can not use other compounds and I have only my drug? To create a generic method?

For the initial characterization, you use the zeta sizer so measure the particle size and size distribution. then go for FTIR analysis, along with the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and for thermal analysis like TGA and powder XRD.
