I am pursuing my Phd in Computer Science and Engineering . The area i choosed is Computer Network. I would like to carry out my research in Mobile Adhoc Networks. is there scope for MANET in next 4 years or is there any alternative ?if so plz give me the details of alternatives.
The mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) is old research area but if you have any new idea to implement, so ok. Because recently the new research areas are:
1. Vehicular ad hoc networks or intelligent transportation system
2. Wireless sensor networks
3. Cloud computing
5. 5G
6. Internet of things
7. Underwater sensor networks
and so on, so it is better you will come with new field and idea because with old field may be you face problems in publishing and justification, etc.
Yes, in fact, I suggest to you to work in the Wireless Sensor Networks field.
Indeed, it is more recent than MANET, and in addition, the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a special case of MANETs, because the WSN is a MANET having much more wireless stations (mobile stations) than a traditional MANET.
