Hallo Adela (if I may) - this sounds interesting. If you like, I can send copies of articles that I have written generally in the area of legal linguistics. This includes teaching legal English, which I note is one of your areas of interest. Greetings from Riga for Semana Santa. Christopher
Thank you very much, Christopher! Yes, it is one of my areas of interest!
We are in San Luis, Argentina.
I teach Legal English at the University: Universidad Católica de Cuyo San Luis.
We have a TOLES examination centre.
And nowadays we have added "Legal English for Human Rights" and we have prepared a "Diplomatura" or "Advanced Studies" on Legal ENglish for Human Rights.
Here I enclose the flyer. It is not for you to take it, since I think you know the field much better, it is just to show a bit of what we do...
Hallo again Adela. My specialism is legal English (LE), which involves some knowledge of comparative law, though I would not claim to be an expert in comparative law. The latest courses that I delivered were to a law firm here in Riga and a half-day intensive to academics at UHelsinki (Law Faculty). I would be happy to send you materials + an article I wrote on teaching LE.
I am a linguist teaching legal German from and into Norwegian, which involves som knowledge of comparative law. The latest course on this subject was the on-line course in JurDist, where the first part consists of teaching key issues of Norwegian law and the second part consists of teaching translation between the language pair German-Norwegian-German. Other colleagues of my department are responsible for teaching the language pairs French/Spanish and English-Norwegian and vice versa.
If interested, I can send you 1-3 articles written in English on the subject of legal translation.
Hace rato, you podia comunicarme bastante bien en espanol y creo que hay muchas oportunidades para explorar el espacio entre estudios hechos y publicados en espanol y los en ingles.
I do not exactly now how I can help but I welcome opportunities for collaboration. I do lectures for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education for lawyers, and one of my topic is on Legal Writing and Oral Advocacy. Count me in,
Hello! I am an expert in legal linguistics (incl. computer‐assisted legal linguistics (CAL) , experienced in teaching Legal English and preparing law professionals for Cambridge ILEC & Toles exams. You can count on me too.
