i made a solution of FeSO4 and added my nano size zeolite (ZSM-5), after about 6 hours the mixture was about to dry, so i poured everything in a Crucible and dried it over 105 centigerade over a night. after that i used a muffle furnace to start calcination process. it started in room temperature to 540 centigrade. is there any thing that i may have done wrong?
Is washing necessary or not before drying your catalyst to remove sulphate ions？please confirm it.....
Further To confirm that your catalyst is OK or not，check the chemical activity of your product or also you can do some basic characterization like XRD etc to confirm your final products..........
Did you stirred the mixture at low temperature (~70°C)? Or you can utilize ultrasound process to improve particle dispersion. You can use volatile solvent such as isopropyl alcohol rather than water. I recommend to use iron nitrate as precursor.
Ion-exchange process will accelerate by stirring at low temperature and you also need to cover the container during ion-exchange process, so that the sample will be in water solution at the end.
After ion-exchange wash the sample 2-3 times with de-ionized water to remove all sodium from the system.
You can use Sodium nitrate instead of Sodium sulfate.
