You need to start. by doing your own literature search. You need to design your research so that it extends previous knowledge. You should probably do this by finding a methodology you can use and replicating a previous study. Research is like cooking. First learn to follow a recipe!
So find out
- what has been done that looks promising
- is there a study you could replicate in Malaysia
- can you add some value to the study by, for example, having a longer follow-up, or by making additional measures, or by improving the intervention by making it simpler, cheaper, or even just translating it into bahasa.
