I want to do find the quantity of minerals in soil via satellite images multi or hyperspectral but there is no ground truth available and the images are outdated. anyone know the quantification ground truth data set? or can anyone suggest some other methods

Abstract : The possibility of using high spectral and spatial resolution remote sensing technologies is becoming increasingly important in the monitoring of soil degradation processes. A high spatial resolution hyperspectral dataset was acquired with the airborne Hyper SIM-GA sensor from Selex Galileo, simultaneously with ground soil spectral signatures and samples collection. A complete mapping procedure was developed using the 2000-2450 nm spectral region, demonstrating that the 2200 absorption band allows the obtainment of reliable maps of the clay content. The correlation achieved between the observed and the predicted values is encouraging for the extensive application of this technique in soil conservation planning and protection actions

I think, you can not quantify the minerals present in soil via satellite images without doing any ground analysis. You may collect the images but you have to go for soil analysis to quantify anything.

Dr Srivastava, there are many works going on in the aspect but our experience is for quantification you have to analyse. Prediction is possible but almost all the time it is inaccurate.
I agree Dr Tarafdar...precise quantification is not possible...
As of today no method is available to quantify the primary and secondary minerals of soils . Some researchers however could provide semi-quantitative method through xrd.method.
