I want abacus cae solution for the following boundary conditions.
1) A striker with an initial velocity of 30000 mm/s is going to strike a piston in -Z direction.
2)The piston can move in -Z direction after the strike.
3)The impact is perfectly elastic.
4) The striker should stop moving as soon as it strikes the Piston.
I want to know that how can we apply the change in velocity condition in a striker for aforesaid impact boundary conditions.
I am not sure if Abaqus offers perfectly elastic impact condition as a check mark. However, even if that option was there, per my understanding of computing, that check mark would just be simulating a change of velocity over a very small time interval. You can do that yourself. For example: Have a change of velocity from the given value to 0 in a time interval of 0.1 seconds. Thereafter, try 0.01 seconds and see how far is Abaqus willing to walk with you.
