Unfortunately, it is impossible to identify this specimens even to a genus level based on these pictures. You need to make high magnification images of gnathosoma dorsally and ventrally at least.
The description and the image given in this link matched with this specimen. Unfortunately I do not have any instrument that can produce more magnified or clear picture. Can you suggest me a taxonomic key which I can follow easily? I have stereo microscopes with 10X to 40X magnification.
It is very difficult to Identify the tick properly without observing the mouth parts. Genus Haemaphysalis is very diverse and many species have a vast array of similarities, from your pictures it is clear that the tick is adult female Hemaphysalis sp. The tick could easily be either H. bispinosa or H. intermedia which are somewhat common in south Indian region

It's difficult to identify the specimen like that. you have to prepare a nice slides to it to make it ready for identification. Even neither the mouthparts nor the ventral plates are visible.
