I totally agree with Noureddine Ouerfelli's opinion. Recently, there are many repeated questions. I wonder if they search before posting questions. I have been a RG member since 2010. I frequently receive the same questions from researchers and especially those who have recently joined the network. So I stopped answering the same questions. I realized that some researchers want just to raise their scores. Others have their own reasons.
I think that the main reason is that we mostly develop an instrumental attitude about RG score and we try to measure everything based on its rising and falling. On the contrary, I personally think that Researchgate is only a medium whereby we try to get to know people with similar scientific and intellectual interests. The opportunities available on Researchgate can open up new horizons before our eyes improving our reasoning strategies and logical argumentation skills which are very essential to pursuing a scholarly path.
I learned a lot from the questions asked on RG and their answers too. As of the score, I consider it as an indicator of my own progress compared to that of other researchers. Maybe it means nothing, but it helps to situate onself among the world of scientists and scholars.
I agree with Bachir Bouhania that questions and answers are beneficial for all RG members. The scores obtained show the progress you have achieved in exchanging and sharing knowledge.
@Hazim Al Dilaimy, thank you for your recommendation. You reminded me that, on RG, at least we can exchange experiences about our various fields and disciplines, and we can also refresh our information and be up-to-date with knowledge.
It will be nice if RG had a mechnism whereby if the same question is asked it referes back with a hyperlink to the one(s) previously asked with a similar theme. This will minimize folks asking questions just for the sake of asking questions as well as with an intent to build up their score.
Aung Ze Ya I do also agree with Qassim Mohammed Hussein, yet I think that some questions are repeated because of the new comers to RG who have some querries but who cannot know that these have already been tackled.
Because the users of the RG scientific portal are interested in what scientific activities should be carried out and what should be reported from these activities on the RG so that the RG scoring rate will grow efficiently.
I think too many people think that RG could be used as a potential parameter to measure the scientific reputation and therefore could be used for academic purpose. Unfortunately this is wrong.
Actually RG score measure how much the researchers participate in the RG system (questions, answers, followers) together with their scientific production.
I think that RG score is a reference to measure one's potential to participate to RG discussions, give, and get intelligent answers to important questions.
